There is no doubt that dad will be happy with any gift you give him this Father's Day, even if it is another tie, but why not give him something he truly wants? Since the holiday falls on June 17th, right at the beginning of summer, it is the perfect time to celebrate your dad with a line-up of summery craft beers. Here are a few suggestions that capture the tastes of the season and provide a refreshing beverage on a summer day.

Sixpoint Jammer

This summery beer provides the perfect balance of sweet, tangy and citrus flavors without being overpowering. It is smooth and easy to sip on. You might not be stretched out on a hammock while you drink this beer, but you will certainly feel like you are.

Shiner Strawberry Blonde

The Shiner Brewery is based out of Austin and prides itself on using local ingredients. This beer is made with strawberries grown right in Poteer, Texas, which adds a bit of sweetness to the traditional blonde beer. It is light, crisp and the perfect compliment to a summer day.

Dogfish Head Flesh and Blood IPA

If dad appreciates the super hoppy taste of an IPA, then you will want to give this version a try. All the citrus flavors that help bring the summer to life are showcased in this beer. It contains real lemon flesh, orange peel and the juice of blood oranges for a fresh and distinct flavor.

21 Amendment Hell or High Water Watermelon

The 21st Amendment Brewery represents the funky side of its hometown of San Francisco. They have taken a classic wheat beer and infused it with plenty of watermelon flavor for an incredibly refreshing and delicious beer that provides a super smooth drink. It pairs perfectly with fruit, salad, and grilled fish at any backyard barbecue.

Green Flash Passion Fruit Kicker

The Passion Fruit Kicker includes layers of passion fruit tea and juice for a unique flavor combination. It provides a little bit of sweet and tart for a more complex beer that is sure to please any dad.

Narragansett Del's Shandy

Nothing quite says summer like this lemony lager. This particular beer is the result of a collaboration between the brewery and Del's Frozen Lemonade, which is an iconic and much-beloved summer staple in Rhode Island. Together, the two companies have created a truly nostalgic and refreshing beer.

Ballast Point Habanero Sculpin

You might wonder just how much spice you can pack into a beer. With the Habanero Sculpin, there is no mistaking the heat. If you like things with a kick, you are sure to be impressed by this peppered beer that still manages to be light and refreshing. There is just enough citrus to balance everything out and create a flavor-packed product that will keep you coming back for more.

Left Hand Good Juju

While most summer beers turn to fruit for flavor, this pale ale is a seasonal choice that's infused with ginger, which helps to create a mildly spicy taste. If you want to mix up your usual list of fruity summer beers, opt for this aromatic beer that pairs well with fish and Pad Thai.

Summer beers are all about keeping things light, fresh and crisp. While a lot of the beers on our list incorporate seasonal fruit, there are also a lot of options that turn to spices to compliment certain malts and barleys for a smooth product that is perfect for outdoor gatherings. Pick up a few different choices and spend some time sampling summer craft beers this next Father's Day.
